Michael Baharaeen

Political Research Director

Michael joined the Atlas Project in 2014 as a political fellow. He later became a junior political analyst and then a senior political analyst. After Atlas became Blue Compass Strategies in 2018, Michael moved into the role of political research director. During his time with the organization, he has written and edited dozens of reports surveying the political and electoral landscapes from the national level down to states, districts, and municipalities. Before joining Atlas, Michael spent one year on Capitol Hill, serving the offices of Rep. Lacy Clay (MO-01) and Sen. Claire McCaskill.

Michael is originally from Kansas City, MO. He holds a BA in Political Science from Truman State University and an MA in Government from Johns Hopkins University. Outside the office, he is an avid cyclist, recovering musician, and lifelong Denver Broncos fan.
